Here are some questions to help you better understand recurring Challenges.
Scoring in a recurring Challenge begins immediately upon saving, unless hidden or disabled, and is retroactive.
It's recommended to line up the start (and end) of a recurring Challenge with the scoring period:
This ensures clarity and prevents users from assuming that their scores are incorrect. For instance, if you start a weekly step Challenge on a Friday, users have only three days to meet the weekly goal, which could cause confusion when the score resets on Monday.
So, setting show/hide dates lets you align a recurring Challenge with the above scoring periods. Disabling the Challenge will also end scoring and remove it from the Challenges section of the app.
A recurring Challenge appears immediately upon saving and remains visible, unless hidden or disabled.
Show/hide dates give you the flexibility to make a Challenge visible prior to the start of scoring or keep it visible after scoring concludes. Alternatively, you can also disable the Challenge, which removes it from the Challenges section of the app.
If you set a hide date this will end scoring, since the Challenge will no longer be visible to users. You can also end scoring by disabling it in the Challenge list.
Running a Step Challenge?
If you're running a recurring Step Challenge, it's recommended to disable or hide it when you want it to end. If you keep a Step Challenge visible after you want scoring to end, users can still access the Rewind button to collect past steps.
