Create a Media Collection
Who can do this:
- Anyone with editing permissions for Media Collection, Media Item, and Homescreen (if selecting Display tags and Availability)
Create a Media Collection that includes assorted types of media or a single item, which employees view as a slide deck. Media can be images, videos, PDFs, and audio recordings.
A Media Collection can be created by uploading new media items from your computer, or using existing items in your media library. See Manage media library.
Create media collections and view items in your media library.
To open the Media page:
- Go to Posts ➤ Media.
A list of your collections is displayed.
Create a Media Collection that includes assorted types of media or a single item.
To create a Media Collection:
1. Go to Posts ➤ Media and click Add.
- A New item window opens.
What if I want to use items from the media library?
If so, at the bottom, click Cancel, which opens a new Media Collection window. Skip down to step 5.
2. Select the Content type in the dropdown and upload your file.
3. Use or edit the Title generated for you, and if you want, include a Description.
4. Click Save.
- A New Media Collection window opens and the item you added appears first in the collection. The title and description of the item are automatically copied to the Collection title/Collection description and Menu title/Menu text fields.
4. Keep or edit the following:
- Collection title: It's recommended to stay under 40 characters (limit 200).
- Collection description: (Optional) Character limit is 400.
These are copied to the Menu title and Menu text fields.
5. If you want to add more items, select one:
- Add new: Upload another item from your computer.
6. Use the arrows, plus (+), or removal (x) signs to the right of an item to make changes.
7. Select the display options you want:
- Full page layout on desktop: The slides display in a full page on a desktop computer.
- Available to subscribers only: This is an advanced option. Let the Refresh customer success know if you want to set this up.
On the right, the preview shows how your media will appear.
8. Fill in the remaining common sections.
9. In the bottom-right corner, select one:
- Save and send message: Opens the Compose page allowing you to send a message to selected recipients.
- Save and close: Saves your collection for the selected timeframe, or until you disable or remove it.
How do I link to a Media Collection from other app content?
When you create Focus Content or a News & Notice item select the Include link? and In-App options to select the Media Collection you want to link to.
