Add Vendors
Who can do this:
- Anyone with the MP Vendors (editable) permission
Before you create a Marketplace, you'll first need to add Vendors. Vendors are listed in a Marketplace, showcasing one ore more unique offers, whether products or services, for users to discover.
Vendors are typically accompanied by the following:
- Description
- A website link
- Logo or image
- Tagline
Add one or more Vendors.
To open a new Vendor:
- Go to Marketplace ➤ Vendors & Offers, and click Add.
Add the Vendor's details, including an optional tagline and logo.
To set up a Vendor:
1. Open a new Vendor and enter a name and URL slug:
- Vendor name: This appears at the top of the menu.
- URL slug: This is a word or phrase that appears after the domain name, beginning with a forward slash. Each word is separated by a hyphen, e.g. /bakery-deals.
What if I want to change the URL slug later?
The URL slug can be only set the first time you save. Changing it later will result in broken links.
2. Enter a a brief intro, and if you want, a longer description:
- List blurb: This is a brief intro that appears below the Vendor name in the menu.
- Full blurb: (Optional) Enter a longer description that appears below the tagline once the Vendor is selected.
3. Upload image(s) or a logo:
- If an image, this appears below the full blurb. Choose Fit or Cover.
- If a logo, this appears in the top-left corner. Select This is a logo and upload a light-on-dark and dark-on-light version for the mobile and desktop app.
- If you want, upload a Background image to display behind the full blurb text.
What should my logo include?
Since uploading a logo replaces the Vendor's name, ensure your logo contains the Vendor's name.
4. Enter additional, optional details:
- Tagline: This is a subheading that appears below the Vendor name, or logo.
- Offers list title: Once you've added at least one offer, you'll see this option.
- Info: This can be info about the Vendor or a summary of the offer(s).
- Website link: Direct people to a link, such as a company website.
- More details: Enter other pertinent info, e.g., restrictions or terms and conditions.
- "Please choose" button text: Encourage users to select an offer.
5. Set the Availability for which admins can view and manage this vendor, if applicable. This does not affect user visibility.
How does Vendor Availability work?
Vendor availability is for admins, not users. It controls which admins can view and manage Vendors. Within a Marketplace, admins curate the Vendors that will be visible to users. To display different vendor combinations, you'll need to create separate Marketplaces.
6. In the bottom-right corner, click Save, or continue to Add Offers.
- If you have multiple offers, use the arrows to the right of each offer to organize them.
Once saved, the Vendor appears in the designated Marketplace based on its start and end dates. If you're not ready for it to appear, disable it in the Vendors & Offers list.
