Segmentation & visibility

2min

One of the most powerful features of Refresh is to control who sees what, within the different areas of your organization. Between controlling access to features, and your own content, your app can take on completely different uses and appearances for entirely separate users, essentially becoming multiple apps in one.

Segmentation allows you to sort users into logical groups that reflect how your organization operates.

Visibility matches up with segmentation to specify which features and content go to which users, and also which layout users see.

A note on content vs features

In this guide, features refer to functional tools, whereas content refers to what you create. Both can be seen by users on the homescreen. Certain content is only available within a specific feature. For example, events are only available within the Calendar feature.

Content that is visible to users on the homescreen depends on what you as an administrator create, how you segment (sort) users, and how you assign content to them. This section will mostly focus on these topics.

Feature availability depends on what was included in your organization's Refresh setup, as Refresh’s customer success team implements these for you. Features appear in the navigation menu and are permanent items.

How do we get additional features?

Currently, access to the Calendar, Raves, Video Routine, Health Plan, Employment, and Expenses features is enabled or disabled by Refresh’s customer success team. If you are interested in one of these and don't see it available, contact Refresh.
